Residents and city officials of this community should be ever so grateful that the victim went above and beyond the call of duty to protect the entire community from a potential explosion, that could have leveled the entire block to mere splinters,injuries and fatalities by a passerby flicking a cigarette butt in the wind . After extensive research of Fort Collins Home Occupation licenses issued only a few homes were allowed a business of this nature. According to the addresses they are on large or acreage lot with ample distance from their neighbors,in an unattached building separate from their home. The illegal business finally came to a halt after the May 2007 murder-suicide of a business owner complaining of fumes which created ongoing disputes between business owners. It was by the grace of God that the murder-suicide occurred prior to the welder's inspection renewal,the event was not welding related but it showed the extreme level of aggravation a person might go to resolve disputes. To allow and support, a welding business, to operate in a one car garage openly, in a collective effort to force a disable minority out of a predominately White community is simply mind boggling, to say the very least.
